Panmnesia, also known as Hypermnesia or Total Recall is the psychic ability to remember absolutely everything one thinks, feels, encounters, and experiences. Those with panmnesia usually need only to read, hear or see something once and they will never forget it again. They can continually learn for the rest of their lives and their brains will simply compress neural synapses to contain it all, allowing memory of every event, experience or tidbit of knowledge from their birth to the present.

This ability is not to be confused with the less advanced Eidetic Memory.

Known Evolved Humans[]

Panmnesia is noticeably more powerful than Eidetic Memory, although both are remarkable memory abilities. Panmnesia allows one to remember everything that they have experienced or learned in their lifetime, even things that happened prior to the manifestation of the ability. This is allows them to access everything that they have been able to perceive physically or engineer mentally. Also the most notable difference between Panmnesia and Eidetic Memory is that, a Panmnesiac's mind can't be overloaded with information that it remembers, part of the ability of Panmnesia is that it automatically releases suppressants to hold everything that it is perceiving regardless of how fast they are perceiving, storing, and then recalling later.

It is theorized that through genetic memory, that some with advanced control or understanding of this ability may or may not be able to recall information regarding their entire family history.

Charlene Andrews[]

Charlie was able to remember everything she read since she first manifested this power. She was also able to comprehend and use the knowledge gained almost immediately, for example she not only memorized the Japanese language (from a Japanese phrasebook) but had a near-fluent recollection of it.

Charlie has the ability to remember everything that has happened in her entire life. She can memorize books word for word that she read in elementary school. She even remembers the night her parents died in a car crash when she was only six months old.

Gabriel "Sylar" Gray[]

Gabriel was able to read the owner's manual for a tractor-trailer and immediately use that knowledge to drive the vehicle.
